Focus on Life: Faithful

Who is more faithful than my favorite walking companion?

This week's theme for Focus on Life is Faithful. My faithful companion every morning is Bebop, my Labrador-Chow mix. Winter, summer, rain or shine, and for part of the year, in the dark, we walk at least to the end of our long driveway, and usually farther. Bebop also has a special relationship with Pippin, one of our cats.

What other examples of faithfulness have our friends uncovered?

Focus on Life: Let's Celebrate - Celebrate Sweetness!

Some Random Sweetness From My Day!

This week's Focus on Life prompt asks us to show some sweetness. I had already decided: NO MORE FOOD! So, I just kept my eye out for the sweetness around me. Here's what I found.

Sweet kitty Merry

Bebop says sweetly, "You gonna give me the cookie, or what?"

Wild Roses, so sweet!

Random yellow flower, pretty sweet.

Let's see what others did with Sally Russick's  prompt.

Focus on Life: Finding the Fun in Photography: Silliness!

Finding Silliness in Everyday Life.

A new month brings us a new Focus on Life Theme, "Finding the Fun in Photography." This week's prompt is "silliness." Thank you to Sally Russick of The Studio Sublime!

I love silliness, but there is not a lot of it happening around me at all times. Or at least not the amusing kind of silliness.

What to do, what to do....

Well the animals are sometimes a good source of silliness:

Hey, where's the leaf?

I got the leaf!

Pippin the cat loves to hang out with Bebop the dog, but they have different ideas of fun. Note the look of boredom on Bebop's face.

But this might be the height of silliness in my life:

"Thanks Mom for bringing the backpack."

My daughter left for AnimeNext - a convention to which she had a ride with friends. And forgot her backpack full of accessories and makeup for her cosplay costumes. Here she is, makeupless and grateful, after I drove them out to her.

So who is the silly one?

Oh well, she's still my baby....

(Note: I do not know what her character is, but that is a jellyfish on her head. )

Focus on Life: In the morning.

I walk with Bebop.

It's about 6:20 AM and cloudy.
Who is more enthusiastic?
Where shall I sniff next?

Are you finished?
Don't bother me, I'm eating my salad.

Sally Russick from The Studio Sumblime gave us the assignment to fill in the blanks, In the _________________, I ___________________. Easy Peasy. In the morning, I walk with Bebop. Sometimes, I'm not that eager. I usually tell myself I only have to get to the bottom of the driveway, Usually we get revved up and go much farther.

Let's see how others met this challenge.

Focus on Life: Moments - Morning

Here we are on an April morning.

When I found out that this week's photo prompt was Morning, to start off our April theme of Moments, I tried to think of some different photos from the ones I usually take. You see, most of my casual photos are taken in the morning, while taking my morning walk. I can't take a camera or other picture-taking device into work,  so early morning workplace was out, and the weather has not been ideal, so recording the glory of spring was out too.

So here is my selfie. You get to see my bed head. This is me early in the morning. Yikes!

Typical morning activities are walking with Beebop, and her blurry friend, Pippin, and picking up the newspaper and yesterday's mail. The animals don't care what I look like. I'm usually a bit more put together by the time I leave for work.

Let's see what Morning Moments everyone has documented.

Focus on Life: Routine

Every day, I'm on my way.

When prompted by Sally Russick to take photos, and write about our routine, I knew I would end up using my morning walk with Bebop as my topic. What could be more routine than the morning dog walk?

I've posted lots of pictures taken while walking on my blog, but with these, you are going to have to appreciate the routine-ness.

Nothing particularly brilliant here. But a pleasant routine.

Let's go, Mom! ----------- Already hot and hazy at 6AM ----------- Mmmm, something smells good!

Hey, let's go down there! -----------Somebody's been cooling off down here ------------Done here

Back up the hill ------------ Sun's climbing higher ---------- It's not totally rural here!

Hey, what's that? (it was a skunk, no harm) ----------Over the bridge again -----------Almost home!

Focus on Life: Take a walk!

A few pictures you haven't seen yet.

When Sally Russick sent out the photo prompt "Take a Walk" I thought, well here's one I can phone in! But no, I always try to take fresh pictures, so the fact that most of the pictures I have taken for this activity have something to do with my daily walks with Bebop, should not keep me from posting some new ones.

Here goes.

Love taking pictures of this bridge that leads across the stream opposite my house

An old cemetery, houses built around it, but it was allowed to remain.
We cross over the same water twice.
The curve in front of our house.
Bebop leading the way.
Daffodils pushing through leaves and garbage by the road side.

I have more pictures in an album, HERE

Focus On: Feeling the Love

Litter Mates

Week 6 of the Focus on Life Blog Challenge sponsored by Sally Russick of Studio Sublime asks us to Feel the Love.
Merry and Pippin are our sister and brother cats, and if cats can love each other, they prove it.

They tussle, they groom, and they share furniture. Meet Merry and Pippin!

Merry's beautiful face.
Pippin goes exploring with his other bestie, Bebop.

A little bit of life

[If you are looking for my Focus on Life post, it's here.]

My morning walk - with my pal.

In my last post I mentioned walking with Bebop, my dog, and today we did Grand Rounds, about a 3 mile loop, taking us over two bridges (one closed!) past several ponds, and up and down hills.

Here's Bebop.

She was very busy. Did not want to pause for a photo op.

So here's a picture from this fall.

The floating head effect. I was photographing jewelry, and suddenly she showed up to check things out.

And these are some of the things we saw.
The bridge by our house

View of the Shawangunk Moutains
One of many ponds we passed

Bridge closed? Not to us!

View from one side of the closed bridge.

The other side of the bridge. Can you see the ducks?
Oh, there they are!

So, that's how we spent our Sunday morning! Thanks for stopping by!
