...or, are you kidding?
So, this week's photo prompt from Sally Russick of The Studio Sublime is "Your Best Shot." No pressure, right?
Thinking about this, I got past the idea of choosing the best photo I have ever taken. Who can do that! I decided to take my camera with me as I did some errands, and choose the best shot I took while out.
Driving down country roads, I found it hard to find a good place to pull over and explore. I mean, I even saw some peacocks sitting on someone's porch railing. But you can't just pull out your camera and start shooting someone's peacock. So to speak.
But I did stumble on a park that is relatively new, and thought I would explore. Um, Can you say boring park? Parking lot for the picnic shelter area, parking lot for the Pop Warner football field, mowed grassy areas, and a small playground area. And NO people.
I walked around the perimeter, and got some shots of berries and foliage. But nothing I could call my best shot.
Until I decided to try taking some pictures of the deserted playground.
MY BEST SHOT!
What's your best shot? Mine got a little help from PicMonkey.

Oh, how I can envision those swings being filled with laughing and giggling kids! Great shot!
ReplyDeleteFabulous shot of all those swings in a row! I love your editing--the colors are wonderful!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe colors are beautiful! You are right, tho - it's a boring playground with no kiddies on the swings. Hope they are not all at home playing video games!
ReplyDeleteWow. I love this shot, the colors, the stillness of the swings, just love it!
ReplyDeleteI love your shot of the swings in that playground. Beautiful composition.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Great composition, great colours...you never know, huh??
ReplyDeleteWhat a great picture. Love the lines and angles of the swing set against the foliage in the background.
ReplyDeleteOkay, now this is a really cool shot! A "best" if you ask me!
ReplyDeleteOh wow - that's really really pretty. Like the angle, the colors... just perfect!
ReplyDeleteI always play on swings when I find a deserte set! Love the colour scheme... is it natural?
ReplyDeleteThe colors have been intensified somewhat. I played with this in PicMonkey, and then my husband pointed out that the "boost" I gave it created washed out areas. I went back and used the more "manual" settings, and it came out intense, but more natural.
DeleteOh yeah, the colour is is superb! like a warm eerie or something a bit retro. Great exploring!
ReplyDeleteA great photo, indeed!!
ReplyDeleteYour shot totally caught my eye in the thumbnail version. I adore the colors in this shot, but find that there's something almost a little sad about a deserted set of swings. So, to me, this photo has a lot of emotion to it as well. Wonderful job finding something spectacular in an otherwise boring location.
ReplyDeleteInteresting that you picked up on that. I found the playground especially depressing and sad. The photos ended up more neutral. At least that is how I experienced it!
Deleteinteresting perspective Beti
ReplyDeleteGreat photo! I love how you've intensified the colours.
