Looking for the right door....
September starts a new month, and our Focus on Life theme is "Simplicity". Today's prompt "A Door."
One of the old farmhouses in our area.
I'm doubtful that this is the original entrance to the house, they seem to be one of the first things to be modernized on these old houses. I like the way it's framed by the golden rod.
Such an inviting door - I just love that old clapboard - and always painted such pretty colours... Gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteThe dark yellow flowers do go well with the pale yellow siding! A no it doesn't look like an original door!
ReplyDeleteBeti - I just love this picture. It is really so warm and happy and homey!! Great selection for this week!
ReplyDeleteA very inviting entrance.I love the color of the house. mine is a shade lighters than this one and very cherry to come home to after a long day.I do love the flowers.
ReplyDeleteOld farm houses seem to be added on here and there. This addition is so hie and inviting.
ReplyDeleteYou're right. The goldenrod is so lovely in the foreground, especially the way it complements the yellow in the house. The door looks like it might lead to a "mud room" which I just love. We grew up in a home where you never wore your shoes in the house and our mud room was always filled with various and sundry shoes.
ReplyDeleteIt looks very welcoming - like you could just walk in and be 'home', ya know? Lovely door for a lovely house.
