....AND PUMPKINS, AND PUMPKINS, AND PUMPKINS!
Sally Russick has tasked us with the "chore" of taking photos of seasonal things. Halloween-y things. Maybe spooky, creepy (or spoopy, crepy) things. Ah, well, unless you consider this creepy
(and maybe you do) you will have to accept the pumpkin my daughter and her coworkers made for the Hannaford Supermarket pumpkin decorating contest. Some of the other ones, too.
This little guy hitched a ride on the mail one cold day. |
Wow, that's a different spin on pumpkin decorating, very cool!
ReplyDeleteWonderful post and the pumpkin decorating too.
ReplyDeleteI agree I like the cheshire cat the best too... I didn't realize it was a pumpkin when I first saw the photo! But then I really like the photos & imagery from A IN W!
ReplyDeletethat is pretty cool! poor Alice losing a leg ... but it is a great decoration!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter and her co-workers put a lot of detail into their pumpkin. It's so clever! They should have won. Perhaps it went over the judges heads.....
ReplyDeleteThanks Patty. One of the problems was that on a crowded table, you really had to look closely to appreciate it. The Skeleton Head won.
DeleteI can't believe they didn't win! What a lot of work went into that! Thanks for the tour of the pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that pumpkin is great and it should have won.
ReplyDeleteWow - that's some cake! I actually think having Alice's leg off works! haha!
ReplyDeleteThe pumpkin is totally awesome! Hands down, it should have won.
ReplyDeleteYikes, spiders are creepy, especially the big hairy ones so I skipped right by that. But those pumpkins are awesome!!! How Fun!!!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, creepy spider for sure! The A in W decorated pumpkin your daughter and her co-workers did is super!! All of them look great, but I feel theirs is the most 'out of the pumpkin box' and the most original - IMHO. I can appreciate the artwork on the Skeleton and even the Cat in the Hat one, but the Alice one really tells a story - makes it super interesting, I think. I do feel for Alice loosing her leg - but it is rather fitting. Great post and wonderful photos for this week's prompt!
ReplyDeleteHehe, the spider is quite cute, in fact :)
ReplyDeleteBut the decorated pumpkin is gorgeous - such a novel idea for a pumpkin! perfectly decorated, it should have won, indeed.
