Focus on Life: In, Out and About - The View About the Ground

Showing off my early spring bounty!

This week's Focus on Life photo prompt is "The View About the Ground."

Last weekend, a farm near where I work (Bailas Farms) held a Mother's Day Sale - mostly selling plants for our gardens. I loaded up! It was a really great weekend.

I have only planted the hardiest of my haul so far, I never trust the weather.

The lettuces looked beautiful in the rain this evening! I have planted the little lettuce starts in a large pot, then sewed more lettuce seed and radish seed between them. I almost hate the pick the largest ones, look how pretty they are in the evening rain.

Photographing flowers was tempting, but I thought these pictures were beautiful in their own right!

Now lets see what the others' view is like.

  1. I love the lettuce looks like a good salad in the making.

  2. Love those lettuce leaves. The second pic is wonderful -- how it highlights the droplets decorating their surface. Sounds like you have a green thumb - not a gift I am endowed with so I will live vicariously through you!

  3. Love that last picture with the raindrops sitting on the lettuce leaves. I am like Paula and have not talent for gardening, but admire those that do.

  5. They are truly beautiful - I would hate to pick them, too. They do look pretty w/the rain drops on them. Don't you just love the wonderful colors and shapes that nature provides us?
