Looking down from the Bridge.
This week Sally Russick sent us the prompt "About the Ground." So after focusing on looking up last week, we are going to be looking at the ground his week for "Focus on Life."
Almost every day I walk across the bridge across from my house. I always look down, but sometimes I get a bit of a surprise.

Not sure how these logs go to be lined up this way, but you can really see them when the water is low. |
|
Fishers, sometimes called fisher cats, playing on the logs.

|
A cardinal flower. |

Fancy meeting you here! |
Anyone else looking down this week?
Great shots! Everything looks unusual from this angle...
ReplyDeleteIs that a deer, I can't quite tell...
Yes, that's a deer turning to look up at me. I didn't have time to take a zoomed in shot.
DeleteWere the logs the original bridge? The cardinal flower is lovely and you can keep yoour deer I have enough of my own!
ReplyDeleteIt's unlikely that the logs were part of an old bridge, it was actually replaced not long ago. I wonder if they may be from the time when there was a tannery there. That would make them somewhere in the neighborhood of 200 years old. Or maybe a piece of the bank gave way and they fell that way.
DeleteHow wonderful! That is a great image of the deer, looking at you with wonder! The red on the cardinal flower is gorgeous. What a nice walk.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos!! I just love the last one of the deer! That's a fabulous shot!
ReplyDeleteLove the deer looking up at you - how cool! And your Cardinal flower is beautiful. Do wonder how those logs got lined up, too - that's rather cool!
